For this one-color screenprint, I incorporated my love for flowers with butterflies and the beautiful patterns they have on their wings. Initially, I create the design digitally to get a symmetrical pattern within the wings. After, I decided to print the design and trace it by hand on tracing paper for a more hand-drawn look. Because it is a one-color screenprint, I wanted to balance the ink with the white of the paper, which is what lead me to knock the design out of the wings.
